[ Bibliography ]

Since it was not me who wrote these marvels of extraterrestrian entertainment (and I don't want to look like claiming to have done so), I'd like to give the bibliography of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series by Douglas Adams.

If you want to know more about the Infinite Improbability Drive, about the Total Perspective Vortex, about Wowbagger the Infinitely Prolonged, about a splendid band called Disaster Area, about the real purpose of Earth, about Norwegian fjord design, about the 'B'-Ship of Golgafrincham, and, most importantly, about the answer to Life, the Universe and Everything - if you want to know about all this, I recommend reading the following:

  • The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
    Pan Books Ltd., 1979

  • The Restaurant at the End of the Universe
    Pan Books Ltd., 1980

  • Life, the Universe and Everything
    Pan Books Ltd., 1982

  • So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish
    Pan Books Ltd., 1984

  • Mostly Harmless
    William Heinemann Ltd., 1992

Among the friends of the Hitchhiker's Guide series, the opinions on whether the latter parts are still entertaining or not differ widely. My personal opinion is that the fourth part isn't quite as gripping as the first three parts were. I haven't read the fifth part yet (and I'm not going to in the near future).

Of course, these books cannot be bought from me (although some people seem to think so), but should instead be purchased from your local bookshop.
